FAQ

How to find the venue by public transport
On https://www.ns.nl/en you can plan your trip to Amersfoort Centraal. You can use your OV-chipkaart or order an e-ticket and scan your QR code at the train station gates. If you forgot to buy a ticket online, you can also buy tickets using the ticket machine at the train stations. The venue is at 5-10 min walking distance from Amersfoort Centraal (take the “Noordzijde/Piet Mondriaanplein” exit).

I’m pre-registered but didn’t receive my ticket?
Pre-registrations have received an invite to register. After successful registration you receive a confirmation from events@invitado.nl or registration@awsticketsemea.eu.

I think I signed up, but can’t find the confirmation?
You should have received a confirmation e-mail from: events@invitado.nl or registration@awsticketsemea.eu. A few days before the event, we’ll send a QR code to get access to the event. Without the QR code, we can’t guarantee access to the event.

Can I register onsite?
No. You must have a valid confirmation e-mail of your registration to check-in on site.

Can I bring a friend?
Yes, but the friend should have a personal registration confirmation received from: events@invitado.nl or registration@awsticketsemea.eu.

Dutch or English?
English. We encourge everyone at the event to speak English because not everyone speaks Dutch and English is therefore more inclusive. It could happen a talk will be in Dutch, if the organizers knew it upfront it’s added to the session description. Most speakers are aware many people in the audience don’t speak Dutch, but at some events we have speakers who are not yet comfortable speaking English in front of a group.

Will there be extra tickets available?
We don’t expect to have more tickets available.

Is there a wait list for the event?
No. There is no wait list for the event. We already overbooked the event because we expect a few no-shows.

Is equipment, like workstations, provided during workshops?
Most workshops are bring your own device, unless otherwise stated in the session description.

What’s the difference between Workshop, Deep Dive and Meetup Style?
A workshop is a session of 50-55 minutes where there is interactivity or hands-on labs. A deep dive session is a session of 50-55 minutes incl QA which is more a presentation or demo with less interactivity. A 20M Meetup Style session is either 20 minutes + 10 minutes QA, or 30 minutes without QA. There are a few exceptions: in the Zandstraalcabine we have 2 hands-on workshops of 2 hours each. In the Onderdelendepot we host the AWS GameDay: F1, which is a walk-in session.

How many sessions are there at the same time?
Throughout the day, the audience can choose between 10-15 sessions, activities or to just hang around in the sponsor area where all food and beverages are served. Only between 16:30-19:00 we expect everyone at the Main Stage and enjoy a walking dinner in the sponsor area.

Is the wifi stable?
Probably not. A lot more people attend video calls during events like this. Please use your mobile phone for video calls.

Can I park my car at the venue?
Yes, there is more than enough free parking at the venue. There are no or less charging stations available, so make sure you have enough juice to get home.
